Using the Whole Animal

This two-day workshop delves deeply into the art of wastelessness. In learning how to utilize every part of a harvested animal, we truly honour its sacrifice and incorporate many aspects of its being into our own. First is the careful skinning and hide preservation, taken to the point where the hide can be set aside to be traditionally brain-tanned at a later date.  Next we study the musculature and skeletal anatomy of the animal. The meat is removed into various ”cuts” without the use of a band saw, but by following the aminal’s natural structure. Have you ever wondered what can be done with the antlers, hooves, sinew, bones  teeth? A myriad of tools, glues, cordage material… discover the endless gifts that an animal has to offer.

No Experience necessary…simply the passion to learn!
