Hide Tanning Workshop

Up until the industrial revolution, tanned skins in one form or another were used for clothing, footwear, bags, pouches, tee pees and almost everything else that modern synthetics provide for us today.  During this workshop, participants learn the ancient techniques of making Buckskin by doing it from start to finish. Different than leather, brain tanned buckskin is made by using the natural lubricants and tools found in the animal, as well as other natural materials and wood smoke. Participants learn the entire ancient process, and take home the work they have completed.
